THE WEB

I sit and watch a black spider
Weave her web around the moon.
Glistening ripples upon the water,
And thoughts of you taunt
Detailed beauty
Velvet spun maze of entrapment
The next victim flies into the unseen
Fear calls the widow to dinner.
She glides effortlessly across her pond of silk
To embrace her visitor like a lover
